The 9th Annual Portland Horror Film Festival kicks off Wed, June 5 to Fri, June 7 at the Hollywood Theatre and continues Sat, June 8 and Sun, June 9 at the Clinton St. Theater. See the entire film lineup here. See the full Schedule here.

FILM HIGHLIGHTS
We are screening 10 Feature Films and 60 short films, including 30 films directed by women! Don't miss special guest - director Jill Gevargizian and her new feature GHOST GAME on Friday night! If you want to see everything, get a Full Festival Pass.

OPENING NIGHT International Horror Double Feature + Short horror films


WED, JUNE 5th, 6:30-10:30pm
The Hollywood Theatre – 4122 NE Sandy Blvd

PHFF Opening Night! WORLD PREMIERE of IN THE NAME OF GOD, a religious horror feature from Sweden! A village priest gains fame when his wife miraculously survives a deadly illness, and to defend the miracle, he delves into the darker reaches of the occult with faith-shattering consequences. 

Then it's the PNW Premiere of Italian Creature Feature THE COMPLEX FORMS. This cosmic horror monster movie follows a group of desperate men who sell their bodies to mysterious entities.

THURSDAY NIGHT: The Invisible Raptor + Short Horror Films


THU, JUNE 6th, 6:30-10:30pm
The Hollywood Theatre – 4122 NE Sandy Blvd

A full block of unbelievably cool and international short films starts off the evening, followed by a Q&A with visiting filmmakers.

Then strap in for the PNW Premiere of THE INVISIBLE RAPTOR, a hilarious and extremely bloody homage to classics like Jurassic Park and ET, starring Sean Astin and Mike Capes, Filled with bodily fluids and lowbrow laughs, you do not want to miss this with a full audience! FRIDAY NIGHT: Ghost Game w/Jill Gevargizian + Late Night Horrors


FRI, JUNE 7th, 6:30pm-12:30am

The Horror Triple Threat starts with a full block of horror short films from local and international filmmakers, then continues with the West Coast Premiere of brand new shocker GHOST GAME from indie powerhouse Jill Gevargizian (The Stylist). Jill is our special festival guest, and with lead performer Kia Dorsey, will take part in an in-depth Q&A following the film. 

Then, we’ll descend into the depths of the night with late night VHS horror HIDING HENRY w/local director Sean Whiteman! Don't miss the World Premiere of this Portland-made feature!




SATURDAY: ALL DAY Horror Marathon


SAT, JUNE 8th, Noon-9pm

Join us for our big Saturday Horror Extravaganza with THREE feature films by women directors: DID I? directed by Sarah Tice (followed by Q&A with Sarah), CARNAGE FOR CHRISTMAS directed by trans filmmaker Alice Maio Mackay (SO VAM), IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS, directed by Rachel Kempf and Nick Toti, plus two massive blocks of short films from around the world, nearly half of which are also from woman directors, and including films by local Portland filmmakers! Full schedule & film info.

SUNDAY CLOSING HORRORS! Shorts 5 & 6 + International Double Feature + SHORTS GONE WILD!

The Final day of horrors! THREE short film blocks round out our massive 2024 short film selection, plus 2 US PREMIERES for our final features: Brazilian giallo slasher ROAD TO THE MOUTH OF HELL by Julio Cesar Napoli, and supernatural horror thriller DASTUR from Kazakhstan by Kuanysh Beisek,

It all comes to a close with the zaniest, bloodiest, funniest short films of the festival in our infamous SHORTS GONE WILD block. And then… we party at Dots Cafe across the street! Full schedule & film info.
